Dr. Don Hope, Neurosurgeon

A Commitment to Excellence

Dr. Hope and his staff are committed to excellence in the care of all patients. Our philosophy embraces performing the least invasive, most effective procedures available that are specifically tailored to each patient.

While a surgeon, Dr. Hope's intention is not always surgery. His primary concern is the best outcome for his patients. In fact, surgery is only recommended once all other non-operative treatments have been considered.

After a careful review of all medical data available, including the patient's overall health condition, occupation and lifestyle, we determine the most beneficial and appropriate surgical option. We take enormous pride in every detail of what we do. Our goal is to provide an unsurpassed level of care to every patient.

Dr. Donald G. Hope has been voted one of Washington, D.C.'s top neurosurgeons year after year. He received his training from the University of Maryland and George Washington University.

Dr. Hope was among the first to use the Stealth Station, a system of image guided surgery at INOVA Fairfax Hospital and HCA Reston Hospital. This type of surgery has been shown to dramatically reduce complications and improve the outcomes for all patients.

With a commitment to staying on the cutting edge of technology, Dr. Hope employs innovative surgical techniques for neurological and spine disorders. This includes microsurgery, synthetic spacers and the most recent advancements in titanium hardware application. These tools allow for the best treatment for complex or comprehensive spine surgery.

Neurosurgeons are the true experts for cranial and spinal diseases of all kinds. Dr. Hope has received specialized training in neurological disorder diagnosis and treatment of the brain and spine. Over the course of a 6-year internship/residency, he received more post-graduate surgical training than is found in many other specialties. His extensive medical training, plus his years of experience, mean that Dr. Hope is unsurpassed in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders that affect the nervous system.
